Position:

Engineer

Job Duties:

This person will contribute to the design of MEMS devices, packaging design and mask design. They will test the MEMS devices along with analyzing and organizing the data. Other duties will include performing simple interfacing of equipment and testing controls while writing simple, routines for data acquisition.

Job Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering and at least 10 years of experience. Shorter experience considered with higher degree
  • Expertise in MEMS testing highly desirable
  • Proficiency in use of software such as AutoCAD or Solid Works, mask design, ANSYS and LabView desirable
  • Experience is optical testing a plus

Position:

Director of Packaging

Job Duties:

This person will define packaging technologies and packaging plans for micromirror displays. They will demonstrate packaging solutions before transfer to packaging partners as well as invent new packaging solutions that improve performance and cost factors. In addition they will manage cooperative development and the transfer to manufacturing as well as identifying and procuring components and equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering etc. with at least 10 or 5 years experience respectively
  • Expertise in MEMS packaging highly desirable
  • Experience with chip and wafer level packaging preferred

Position:

Director of Optical Engineering

Job Duties:

This person will develop specifications for performance and components as well as an Optical Engine (OE) for testing micromirror displays in cooperation with OE manufacturer. They will identify necessary and desirable improvements in performance of micromirror displays. They will determine technical approaches to achieve performance improvements of the OE as well as evaluate costs associated with those improvements. They will develop an improved OE for micromirror projection displays in cooperation with manufacturing partner. In addition they will coordinate the development of high throughput equipment with test engineering and the OE manufacturer. This person will also have the opportunity to investigate the potential for mobile projection displays, their configuration and their cost structure.

Job Requirements:

  • MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering etc. with at least 10 or 5 years experience respectively
  • Expertise in Optical Engine design for projection displays highly desirable
  • Experience testing and manufacturing optical devices preferred

Position: MEMS Test Engineer
Job Duties:

Development of various hardware system methodology and software that are used to diagnostics, characterization, process optimization and monitoring in manufacturing of MEMS-based micro-mirror pixels and arrays. Specifically, the MEMS Test Engineer will integrate commercially available components into a complete test system that can perform various tests for MEMS-based micro-mirrors and display light engine products; modify various software for operating the test system tailored to the micro-mirror development and manufacturing needs; engage in optical testing, mechanical testing and electrical testing, long term reliability testing, failure analysis and reverse engineering; conduct Finite Element Analysis and compare modeling results with measured data, develop new test procedures, methodology for optical test systems such as custom global diagnostic station, etc. The MEMS Test Engineer will need to work with the design and processing teams to develop testers for characterizing sophisticated display performance and provide written detailed procedures and instructions for their use. Also work with facilities personnel to coordinate lab asset acquisitions, inventory, calibration and maintenance.

Job Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent in EE, Physics, Math or related field of study; or M.S. in E.E. Physics, Math, or related field of study, plus 5 years of experience as MEMS Test Engineer or related occupation.

Position: MEMS ENGINEER - Member of the Technical Staff
Job Duties: CMOS compatible micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) processing for the digital micro mirror in the area of thin film, plasma etch and photo lithography. This includes managing the thin composite film stress to fabricate a flat torsion hinge, striction reduction for the micro mirror. Optical Electrical characterization for digital light modulator, determine the resonance frequency, micro mirror performance improvement to meet the requirement for display purpose. Process failure analysis, reliability and yield improvement.
Job Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent in EE or related field of study, plus 5 years of experience as MEMS Engineer or related occupation.

Position: MEMS CHARACTERIZATION ENGINEER - Member of the Technical Staff
Job Duties: Characterize Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) micromirrors, their test structures and displays and their reliability; identify and procure test equipment for structural, electrical, mechanical and optical characterization of MEMS, develop performance specifications and component specifications; identify and procure test equipment for characterization of projection displays and their reliability testing; develop equipment for local and global, static and dynamic characterization of MEMS devices and displays that is required but not available commercially; contribute to improvements in device design testing, fabrication and packaging of micromirror displays; define and implement reliability and accelerated testing of micromirror devices.
Job Requirements:
  • M.S. or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Math or related field, plus 4 years experience as a MEMS Characterization or Display Engineer, or related field.
