SP, a Delaware incorporated company located in the center of Silicon Valley, was founded in 2004 to develop next generation microdisplay for business and consumer projection display applications. At the end of 2004, company raised significant funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Intel Corporation. The company’s board members include legendary company builders, such as John Doerr, Vinod Khosla, Les Vadasz and IP litigation attorney Roger Borovoy.

To lead the commercialization of this unique technology, the company recruited Wald Siskens as CEO. Wald is a former vice president of Philips Electronics and as general manager responsible for building and launching Philips’ LCoS microdisplay business.
